![]() | Reconditioned or Remanufactured?Every unit we receive goes through the same systematic remanufacturing process, developed from 40 years of experience producing remanufactured alternators and starter motors. The following sections explain in simple terms the generic remanufacturing process we apply. The principles are the same for alternators and starter motors. Stage 1 unit identification.Units received are identified and logged into our quality system. Traceability is important, each unit receives a job card and a unique serial number which follow it throughout the remanufacturing process. Stage 2 dissassembly.Units are dissassembled into each component part. Each part is then thoroughly degreased and checked. Parts are kept together along with their job cards. Stage 3 inspection.Parts are fully inspected and where appropriate, tested to establish their condition. All servicable items are replaced in accordance with the original equipment manufacturers specification. In addition all worn and damaged parts are replaced. The unit casings are then carefully shot blasted to restore their original condition. Stage 4 assembly.The parts are transferred to our remanufacturing area where they are re-assembled to Original Equipment manufacturers specifications. Stage 5 testing.Following assembly the completed unit undergoes a complete functional test using our specially manufactured test equipment. Stage 6 completionThe unit is identified with a unique serial number and details of all operations performed and parts replaced are entered into our quality system for traceability.
